Olivia Montessori is proud to host the 1st Annual Padma Shri V. S. Gaitonde Painting Competition in the presence of Kishori Gaitonde, sister of V. S. Gaitonde.

V. S. Gaitonde was regarded as one of India's foremost abstract painters whose paintings have sold for substantial amounts at International auction houses. He received the Padma Shri Award in 1971.

The Padma Shri V. S. Gaitonde Painting Competition will be held on 19th of April 2023.

Ages 2.5 Yrs - 12 Yrs

Competition is only for children between the age 2.5 Yrs to 12 Yrs.

11 AM - 4 PM

Participants can attend the competition between 11 AM – 4 PM. Paintings must be submitted between this time only.

Where is the competition?

The competition will be held offline on 22nd May 2022 at Olivia Montessori. However, participants can also paint at home.

  • After registration children can paint from their homes.
  • However, paintings have to be submitted physically at Olivia Montessori on 22nd May 2022 between 11 AM and 4 PM.
  • The paintings have to be made on A4 size sheet/paper only.

Submission Date

  • Paintings done from  home have to submitted physically at Olivia Montessori on 22nd May 2022 between 11 AM and 4 PM. 
  • Photographs of painting sent via email or WhatsApp shall not be accepted.
  • Paintings submitted post 22nd May 2022 shall not be accepted.
  • Only one entry is accepted per individual.
  • The entry fee is non-refundable.

Medium & Materials

  • Only A4 sized papers/sheets have to be used for the paintings.
  • The paints can be of any type (watercolor, acrylic etc).
  • Sketches using pencils, crayons, color pencils are also accepted. 

Selection Criteria

  • The jury for the competition will be Kishori Gaitonde, sister of V. S. Gaitonde.
  • Kishori Gaitonde is an artist herself. She  graduated from the J.J School of Arts, Bombay just like V. S. Gaitonde. 

Announcing Results

The winners will be informed on 29th May 2023 by e-mail and the results will be published on the website,  Facebook page and Instagram page of Olivia Montessori. Follow by clicking on the links below.

Awarding of Prizes

  • Prizes will be distributed to one winner and one runner-up in each group.

  • The winners can collect their prizes on 30th May 2023 from Olivia Montessori.

Intellectual Property

In participating in the competition, you are involving yourself in the definitive cession of your work to Olivia Montessori (brand of Key Stone Educational Trust) exclusively and free of charge. Olivia Montessori will hold the copyrights to the artistic creation presented and, in particular, the rights to or to not to diffuse, exhibit, utilise and reproduce the creation for commercial purposes, be it in the form of reports, newsletters, magazines, websites, Instagram and Facebook posts with the intention of promoting the centre’s activities.

The participant who is awarded a prize agrees for the transfer of all copyrights to Olivia Montessori. The transfer of these rights takes effect as soon as the prize is awarded. Olivia Montessori reserves all rights for the distribution of the creation. The undersigned will be mentioned as the creator with each usage. The undersigned agrees that their artistic creation may or may not be used for commercial purposes in the form of reports, newsletters, magazines, websites, NFT’s, social network with the objective of promoting the centre’s activities.

Exclusions

Participants are prohibited from engaging in counterfeiting or plagiarism. The artistic creations must be originals and not be the subject of a copy.

These regulations are final and will not be the object of any plea, appeal or prosecution by the schools nor the authors.

Membership

Parents of the participants in our competition become correspondent members of Olivia Montessori and Padma Shri V. S. Gaitonde Painting Competition. Correspondent members will receive newsletters, latest information, articles, details of upcoming  competitions, details of classes etc.
